Seaport Village Fourth of July Fireworks and Summer Fun

Published : 6/30/2008 by Lauren Burke

Long days spent spread out on the sand under an umbrella seem to characterize lazy San Diego summer days.

Once you've achieved that golden brown tan and need a break from the sand and surf, head over to Seaport Village near the Downtown marina district for a summer filled with free, fun live entertainment and some of the best and most beautiful shopping San Diego has to offer.

With its sweeping panoramic harbor views and the gentle sea breeze, Seaport Village offers something for families, couples, and tourists alike. Starting this summer, alongside Seaport Village's signature street performers, the community will be showing free performances by He Nani O Polynesian Dancers and hilarious acts from comedic stunt duo Project Dynamite on alternating Saturdays and Sundays. Prefer shopping instead? Grab a shopping buddy and take a stroll along the manicured stone pathways while perusing the whopping 14-acres of shopping Seaport Village has to offer.

With the massive mobs crowding San Diego for the 4th of July, picking a location to watch the fireworks with friends and family often becomes stressful, but this year Seaport Village has the answer. All of San Diego will have fun groovin' to the blues, rock, jazz, swing and Latin beats of Bree'zn who will be playing at the village from 1-4 pm on the Fourth, followed by the spectacular Big Bay fireworks show at 9pm. A perfect summer setting to enjoy San Diego's favorite holiday.

Pack a picnic, bring the kiddies, sit back and enjoy as Seaport Village provides eclectic music, creative performers and only the best in shopping all summer long, with the picturesque San Diego harbor as the stunning backdrop. Check out seaportvillage.com for a complete list of 2008 summer entertainment.

Are you visiting San Diego on the 4th?

I know how it feels to have to pick the right spot for you and your family to enjoy the firwirks. I go through it everyyear but once you find the right spot it really is worth it. Don't stress keep your eye on the prize and most importantly give your self plenty of time when leaving the house. If you wait too long you will be standing when you get to your destination.
