The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is extending the Oktoberfest fun well into the month with the first annual on-site celebration on October 18, 2008.

The Sheraton Oktoberfest will leave nothing out of the mix - from beer chugging and stein holding contests to live bands, apple bobbing, hotel room specials, and all the authentic eats you can stuff into one tent, the Sheraton is doing Oktoberfest more-than-justice on Saturday, October 18.

This Oktoberfest celebration is all about contests. Kids will love the apple bobbing, face painting, and various game areas; adults will put their skills to the test with such contests as stein holding, beer chugging and more. Once you win your battle of choice, sit back and relax with good beer, better food, and entertainment until night.

The Sheraton will be decorated in traditional banners straight from Munich and blue and white checkered table cloths. Inside the tent will be all the best in Oktoberfest food, ranging from Bavarian pretzels ($4) to traditional choucroute plates - kraut, knackwurst, smoked pork sausage, fingerling potatoes - ($15), pastrami reuben ($6), grilled bratwurst ($6), and candy apples ($5). And no Oktoberfest would be complete without the beer. Go big with a one liter stein and souvenir glass to keep for $20 - with refills for $9 - or keep it simple with a 16 oz. beer ($5).

Inside the tent and around the picturesque harbor-side hotel grounds will be live entertainment, starring Stewshiedzal - a five piece band with a tube, trombone, saxophone, drums, and accordion. This acclaimed group will play two sets, starting from 12:30-4:30pm, and continuing from 5:30-9:30pm. Authentic dancers will also grace the stage and interact with the crowd and assist the many contests throughout the day.

Continue the Oktoberfest spirit at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Saturday, October 18, 2008 - from mid day until the late night.
