Spend the end of summer contributing to a worthy cause while enjoying the beach breeze, getting great exercise – and scoring two complimentary beers, only at the annual Stay Classy Fire Run.
Join Stay Classy and Kathy Loper Events on Sunday, August 24th, for the End of Summer Fire Run - a gorgeous 4-mile coastal run/walk from La Jolla to Pacific Beach, starting at 8am. This (hot) seaside stroll will help benefit the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation.
The San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation is a public charity dedicated to supporting the needs of local fire fighters, helping also to raise funds for unmet equipment and meet training needs of the Fire Rescue Department in San Diego. By participating in this event, walkers and runners will help enrich this program even further. The benefits of walking and running, combined with a local charitable cause, make this event all the more worthwhile.
Those participating will receive a colorful Fire Run event t-shirt and two free beers and live music at the after-party, hosted at Pacific Beach Bar and Grill. Awards and monetary prizes will be given to the first three winners in each age division, with $500 for first overall male and female, and $250 for first master male and female.
Register online now for $27, at StayClassy.org. On site pre-registration ($30) begins on Saturday, August 23rd, starting at 10am and ending at 1pm at Pacific Beach Bar and Grill. Race Day registration ($33) starts at 6am at Prospect and Draper Streets. Be on time, as registration closes promptly at 7:50am.
The Stay Classy goal for the 2008 Fire Run is a projected 2,000 walkers and runners and at least $5,000 donated to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation. Whether you're participating in the race, or lining the streets to support your active friends, everyone is welcome at the Fire Run.
