San Diego is keepin' it classy with the third annual Stay Classy Tailgate party this Saturday, July 12th starting at noon in the East Village on J Street between 7th and 9th streets.
This all-ages, all-day music and charity event features two solar powered stages under the summer sun, just adjacent to Petco Park. Watch the handlebar-defying, consciously social Flobots perform live alongside bootie-shakin' Dirty Sweet and funky Lady Dottie and the Diamonds among others.
As the music stages cool off into the sunset, head over to Petco Park and watch your favorite (underdog) San Diego Padres take on the Atlanta Braves at 7:05pm. Add a ticket to the ballgame for only $10 extra on top of your Tailgate ticket price. For 21+ crowd, the night rages on at The Fleetwood, where your Tailgate ticket also gains you free entrance to the official after-party with DJ duo Shark Attack.
The coolest thing about this event is all proceeds will benefit local charities through the Stay Classy Elemental Experience Foundation.
This foundation is characterized by a set of four environmental campaigns including Air, Fire, Wind, and Water. Within these campaigns, set in motion by StayClassy.org, are initiatives to plant trees for park development, organize beach cleanups, install solar panels on elementary schools, and by challenging San Diego business to reduce pollution through carbon offset programs.
Stay Classy's goal for the Tailgate Block Party is a projected 4,000 attendees, donating $10,000 to the Elemental Experience Foundation.
