Defy: Super Spartan Race in Temecula

Attention Spartan-like athletes with unwavering courage and self-discipline, undaunted by pain or danger, this race is made for you. The Super Spartan Race is powering into SoCal on Jan. 28th and Jan. 29th to find out if we, San Diegans, are “Spartan Tough.”

Participants will battle through Temecula’s Vail Lake Resort terrain that features water, elevation gain and loss, and muddy areas where they have to not only run, but jump, dive, crawl, climb, slide, dodge, carry, drag, throw, and think on their feet.

Prepare, as the first heat for this 8-mile course starts at 9am on Saturday and Sunday. Further heats leave every 30 minutes after 9am until 3pm. The SoCal Super Spartan Sunday includes a two-person relay where your buddy can help you survive by taking on half the course. Even if you don't pass the finish line first, you'll receive a Finishers Medal, a Spartan Race T-Shirt, and more importantly, scrapes, bruises, and intense stories of your Spartan experience.

Registration is sold out for Jan. 28th and is about 90 percent full for Jan. 29th, so register online before Jan. 25th. Individual tickets cost $113 and Sunday’s two-person relay tickets cost $128. For children, there is a Spartan Race Kid’s Course benefiting the Rod Dixon Kid’s Marathon Foundation for $18 per children 5 to 13 years old.
