"Sweatte Impact" Runway Show at The Fleetwood

Published : 2/26/2008 by Michelle Guerin

The stylish East Village restaurant and lounge, The Fleetwood, has a passion for charitable goodwill, and often hosts restaurant events to benefit local charities, such as the Dining for a Cause Tuesday series.

This March The Fleetwood is teaming up with Sweatte Models to present Impact Fashion – a stylish new dining event with the same charitable mindset, on March 4, 2008, starting at 6pm.

Sweatte Models is an organization that coordinates and presents charity fashion shows. Working with models, designers, make-up artists, and hair stylists, Sweatte Models utilizes the glamour of the fashion industry to benefit various charities worldwide.

Impact Fashion is a black tie event, beginning at 6pm with cocktails and socializing about The Fleetwood bar and lounge. At 7pm guests will be seated for the four course dinner menu, sampling stylish tastes of the Fleetwood's gourmet menu.

The appetizer trio of Ahi Poke, BLTA Lettuce Wraps, and Grilled Lamp Chop introduces the starter, with your choice of Farm Greens and Caesar Salads of Tomato Bisque soup. Entrée options include Braised Short Ribs, Grilled Atlantic Salmon, Grilled Filet Mignon, and Fried Chicken, to be sweetened up by the dessert trio of Apple Cobbler, Mama Rita's Carrot Cake, and Uncle Terry's Chocolate Cake. The dinner menu is served with wine pairings.

The fashion show will light up The Fleetwood's impromptu runway at 10pm with a select entourage of 30 Sweatte Models clad in featured designer duds by Amanda Sanders, Stranquist Design Studio, Jorge Lopez, Les, Macy, and more. Designers will sell clothing featured on the runway after the show. As the models strut for a good cause, guests will sip cocktails, soak up Fleetwood's stylish décor, and admire charity's new fashionable look.

Impact Fashion at The Fleetwood benefits Children's Hospital. Event admission is $250, including dinner and show. Individual dinner and/or fashion show tickets are also available. Doors will be open to the public after 9pm with a $25 cover that covers fashion show admission.
