Sycuan Casino $27 Million Renovation

A grand re-opening gives a San Diego destination a chance to build upon what they’ve developed over the years and divulge something fresh to guests. Sycuan Casino has completed a $27 million property makeover, renovating a vast majority of the interiors and exteriors. The big reveal of the face-lift takes place September 24th-25th.

What’s to expect from this grand remodeling? The all-new GameDay Sports Bar & Grill is one of the largest innovative features of Sycuan. The combined gaming and sports experience includes 29 multi-game, multi-denomination bar top gaming machines, offering video poker, keno, and slots all in one device. Thirty-nine high-definition and projection TVs offer viewing capability for a sports fan’s dream night. Plenty of sports memorabilia line the walls of this new eatery, and pizzas and barbeque specialties are filling up the menu.

Speaking of food, the new Paipa’s Buffet has been relocated to the smoke-free wing of the casino. Renovations include a new kitchen, seating to fit 320 people and more specialty food stations. Executive Chef Paul Schwab has added new menu items, including snow crab legs, brick oven pizza, a fresh pasta station, freshly made tortillas, grilled steaks and an expansive dessert bar. With these additions, Sycuan has become the new “Surf & Turf Buffet” spot.

Other new aspects to the scene include a one-of-a-kind lighting feature, hanging 15 ft. from the atrium ceiling. Watch as hundreds of programmable LED lights spill color down from the ornamental feature to a video floor below. Guests can also look forward to visual upgrades in the Poker Room, Off Track Betting, Bingo Pavilion, Gift Shop and more.

The casino’s grand re-opening celebration takes place September 24th-25th, featuring an ongoing large-scale party for casino guestswith hourly cash drawings, t-shirt giveaways, free snacks for players, a DJ spinning tunes and $10,000 grand cash prize each night. The Sycuan Casino is located in El Cajon, making for an easy San Diego staycation. With 2,000 reel and video slot machines, more than 40 gaming tables, poker, bingo, restaurants and entertainment, as well as a fully-enclosed non-smoking room, Sycuan is anything but an ordinary casino.
