It’s back for its 12th year of local eats along one of the hippest avenues in town. Mark your calendars—Taste of Adams Avenue returns to the obvious location on Sunday, June 24th from 11am-3pm.
While discovering the neighborhood’s culinary highlights, guests will have the chance to taste from thirty restaurants, coffee houses, pubs and specialty eateries spanning from Normal Heights to Kensington and into North Park. Each of these Adams-only spots will offer up samplings of their house-specialties, stuffing your face with fresh local seafood, All-American comfort foods and tantalizing sweets.
A few of our favorites participating in this year’s Taste of Adams Avenue include:
Kensington Grill: A hip eatery with rustic “New American” cuisine and upscale flair from Tracy Borkum.
Sabuku Sushi: A fresh perspective on old sushi traditions. Sabuku offers all the classics plus a few unusuals like a Bacon Avocado Roll or the Buku Nachos from a won-ton chip base.
Blind Lady Ale House: Known for a majority of organic and locally grown foods paired with beer, this Ale House warmly welcomes the neighborhood in for drinks with hand-crafted grub. (Main Image)
Cantina Mayahuel: A cantina with San Diego style embracing a standard Mexican dining experience. The charming restaurant involves guests in their process and passion behind the food and tequila.
Additional locations scheduled to participate include Bleu Boehme, Burger Lounge, Café Cabaret, Café 21, De Mille’s, El Zarape, Farmhouse, Incredible Cheesecake Company, Kensington Café, Lestat’s, Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant, Proprietors Reserve, Rosie O’Grady’s, Senor Mango, Starbuck’s Kensington, Tams, Tao, Twiggs Café and Viva Pops.
Roaming the road by foot is encouraged, or you can hop aboard the complimentary trolley service available along Adams Avenue. Plenty of neighborhood shops on the way will also encourage guests to explore some of Adams Avenue thriving businesses. Taste of Adams Avenue is presented by the Adams Avenue Business Association.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event. Learn more at tasteofadamsavenue.com.
