The creative and non-traditional art scene in San Diego is continuing to flourish with the hip environment of Downtown San Diego and surrounding areas, becoming more eclectic than ever.
Just south of the border in Mexico lies Terra Sur, a new residential resort community housing a one week contemporary art and modern architecture exhibit that will broaden the art scene and raise the bar for the expanding minds of San Diego artists and museums.
The exhibit, entitled 'A Room of One's Own: Intimate Art in Contemporary Space,' is a new style of art show which will showcase the talented and brilliantly different works from artists in the Mexico/California border area within the architecturally advanced rooms of Terra Sur, with the Pacific Ocean waves as the backdrop.
Art installations, performance pieces, and audio visual displays from artists such as Tania Candiani, Aldo Guerra, and Mely Barragan will provide more of an 'art experience' then just a simple viewing, enabling guests to better understand Baja California's past and present cultures.
The site-specific architecture is as much a visual feast as the pieces on display. Baja's most talented architects Rob Wellington Quigley and Guillermo Martinez de Castro helped create the stunning beach front property, and their work has helped Baja California become a recognized cultural and artistic hub.
