The 26th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair in Normal Heights

Published : 9/20/2007 by Craig Slike

On the weekend of September 29th, eight blocks of Adams Avenue (between Bancroft and 35th in Normal Heights) will be completely shut down and inundated with live music lovers for the 26th Annual Adams Avenue Street Fair.

The Adams Avenue Street Fair features over 80 live music performances on six stages, three beer gardens and over 300 Arts & Craft and Food vendors. The event is attended by over 100,000 people, making it the largest free two-day music festival in all of Southern California.

Get there early to find a parking spot, and just plan on hanging out all day. It's an easy walk between stages making it possible to see half sets if two of your favorites happen to be playing at the same time. Entertainment is even provided in the shaded beer gardens. The Street Fair boasts a fair variety of music, but you can mostly expect to hear blues, rock, alt-country and acoustic with a little world, alt, roots-rock, jazz, and reggae mixed in.

The Author's Recommended Artists at the Adams Avenue Street Fair are in Bold. These are a "must see", people. . .
