The Fleetwood Summer Block Party

Summer has finally descended upon San Diego, bringing with it lazy beach days, rambunctious pool parties, and vibrant sun-lit music festivals. There’s nothing quite like enjoying good tunes with good friends while soaking in the sun, and The Fleetwood Summer Block Party is your chance to do just that.

This all day festival will be happening outside The Fleetwood in East Village on Saturday, June 25 from 12pm to 10pm.There will be tons of food and drinks provided by the lovely people of Beachwood and Fleetwood. The finest go-go dancers will get the energy flowing, as security, decked out in lifeguard costumes, posts up throughout the event on lifeguard towers. But the best part of any summer festival is the music line-up.

Rock-it! Scientists, a Bay Area DJ duo consisting of DJ Guzie and DJ Solarz, will be showcasing their combined talent at this festival with unique mixes of hip-hop, rock, dance, and ‘80s pop. Songs off of their 4 mix CD’s will be performed, including singles from their newest CD, “The Blast-Off II”.  Expect to hear the signature they’re loved for, including remixes of Baby Bash, Kanye West, Shakira, and Rage Against The Machine. True fans will be super excited to hear the infamous “Ultimate Bay Break” live and in person.

Common Sense, a reggae-rock band from Orange County, will also be performing. The band is known for their soulful vocals, incredible stage presence, cheerful guitar riffs, funky bass, and a powerful message that fans love. They will be performing songs off their latest CD, “Don’t Look Back”, including hits such as “Twisted Mind” and “Sure Enough”. Their unique blend of heavy reggae, alternative rock, and even pop is perfect for setting the stage at a summer festival.

In addition, local DJs and bands will keep the crowd moving, starring name like Loczi, Mikey Beats, Funk Inc, Pushin Rope, The Lyon Crowns, Los Drums, Chris Clouse, DJ Theron, DJ Devoy, and DJ Who ft. Paul De Rosa.

The Summer Block Party goes off on Saturday, June 25 from noon ‘til 10pm outside The Fleetwood in East Village, and is priced at $10 for the first 100 people, but going up to $25 the day of the event. Get details here.
