The Old Globe’s three stages are renowned for presenting some of the finest regional theater in the country. In the past two decades, the Globe has premiered 16 productions that went on to Broadway, many of which have earned Tony Awards. The quality of its productions has attracted some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including John Goodman, Matthew Broderick, Peter Ustinov, and Jonathan Lithgow.

On the main stage, audiences are treated to fully staged spectacles that often feature a live orchestra and elaborate visual and sound effects. Intimacy, dialogue, and drama are the hallmarks of plays presented in the Cassius Carter Center Stage where seating is “in the round.” Set amid a beautiful backdrop of eucalyptus trees, the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre is the site for the annual summer outdoor Shakespeare Festival.
