The Tijuana Tequila Expo 2007, Mexico's largest Tequila exposition (and therefore the world's), is an alcoholic extravaganza. The festival lines the famous Avenida Revolution with tequila tasting booths, live music, strolling mariachis and street tacos October 13th to 15th.
More than just a shot taken with salt and lime, tequila has gained newfound respect in recent years as legitimate, world-class liquor. The Tijuana Tequila Expo will feature tequila experts and distillers to guide you through the finer intricacies lost on the uninitiated. A complimentary tequila tasting guide is also available in both Spanish and English. Over 300 tequila brands will be available for tasting at the 7th annual event.
Believe it out not, the Tijuana Tequila Expo is billed as a family event. They expect you to get a little tipsy, but cross the line into drunken belligerence and you'll be thrown out -maybe into a TJ jail. Even though it sounds like a good story, trust me, it's no picnic.
The best way to get to the Tijuana Tequila Expo to take the 5 South to the last US Exit. Get off and park on the American side of the border. There is a bus available that will take you across the border and over to Revolution for a nominal fee. Catch a cab to the border crossing on your way back and walk across - don't forget your ID or passport.
