The Reuben H. Fleet is like an educational amusement park. Its 80 permanent interactive exhibits engage the brain and senses on many levels, covering a wide variety of science phenomena, from perception and astronomy to electricity and technology. In addition to a fun motion simulator ride, the Fleet is home to the world’s first dome theater (built in 1973). Featuring original documentary films by IMAX and planetarium shows, the theater immerses audiences in the action.

With an extensive selection of science-related toys, games, books, and DVDs, the North Star Science Store at the Fleet offers hard-to-find gifts for geeks of all ages.

i read somewhere that every tuesday of the month there is free admission to the museums. so I went down to balboa and the admission that was free that day was the science center. it was down. i took my girlfriend and we did that "see what your kid will look like" thing where you sit on opposite sides of this glass type thing and your features kinda come together, it was crazy man. but fun. i'd go there again.
