Top Ten Karaoke Songs of All Time

Posted On : 1/20/2011 by Kseniya Bublikova

So, you really decided to do it. You’ve made up your mind and all your friends are squealing in anticipation of the chance to fully embarrass you, I mean, encourage you. Maybe you had one too many drinks. Maybe you’re actually a really good singer. Whatever the case may be, the decision is sealed.

You go up to the DJ and all of a sudden, nothing. No, I’m not referring to a black out. I’m talking about that moment when you totally forget all the songs you’ve ever liked or sung in the shower. But there’s no backing out now, your friends are cheering you on...

Don’t panic! For situations just like these, we’ve composed a list of the top ten best karaoke songs of all time. If you’ve never tried singing karaoke in San Diego before, there’s no better time than now! If you’re too scared to brave it alone, I’ve included some of our favorite duets. Head to Analog Bar in the Gaslamp, The Lamplighter in Hillcrest or another San Diego karaoke bar, pick a song, and sing your little heart out!

Top Ten Karaoke Songs

10. Killing Me Softly by The Fugees: Even I can make this song sound okay. Enough said!
9. Cowboy by Kid Rock: Pretty much anyone can look cool singing this song. I swear.
8. Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi: If you’re a really terrible singer, this is the one to go with! People in karaoke bars LOVE this song and their singing along will most likely cover up yours.
7. Dragula by Rob Zombie: Tip – have an extra drink before you do this one.
6. I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher: Awesome duet and easy. Need I say more?

5. Come Together by the Beatles: A classic. Plus, all the older people in the bar will want to buy you a drink after.
4. Forgot About Dre by Eminem and Dr. Dre: My personal favorite. And yes, I know I shouldn’t rap.
3. Picture by Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock: You will probably get a good audience response with this one because people (for some reason) really feel they can relate.
2. Gin and Juice by Snoop Dogg: Hilarious no matter who sings it. Plus, you can really add in some stage personality with this one.
1. Honky Tonk Badonkadonk by Trace Adkins: A real crowd-pleaser! Trust me on this one.

Afraid your voice ain't up to par? You'll feel better about yourself after watching this karaoke video...

Now that you’ve got your lineup, test your skills at one of our favorite San Diego karaoke bars!

Missed some biggies

Great idea for a list! But I'm shocked - shocked! - that you did not include "Sweet Caroline." If you've ever been to a bar when someone sings this you know what I mean. Another can't-go-wrong hit is Alanis Morisette's "You Oughta Know," and anything by Journey rocks the house.
