The dynamic teen dance performance group, transcenDANCE, is wrapping up the Door To Door production with a finale at the Lyceum Theater in Downtown San Diego on Tuesday, August 21, 2007. The transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project is a non-profit organization, based out of City Heights. Their mission is to empower multi-cultural, inner-city youth through the life-affirming power of arts and performance.
The Door to Door performance reflects the various passages of life, the doors of opportunity, and the universal key of passion we all possess. Fourteen performers, all local students, enthrall audiences with modern-cultural fusion dance, a tribute to old-school basics with an added hip-hop flair.
The Lyceum performance concludes the 2007 tour that spanned schools, festivals, and special events throughout the San Diego community. This final event includes a pre-performance reception with complimentary food and drinks, live world beat music, and African dance. All proceeds support the Youth Arts Project's innovative efforts with underprivileged San Diego youth.
