In San Diego, our thirst can easily be quenched by downing some filtered water straight out of the fridge, but for many others around the globe, finding clean water to drink on a daily basis is nearly impossible. Thirsty to help?
On Sunday, March 22, 2009 (World Water Day), come join UNICEF to kick off World Water Week at the Thirsty for Change Benefit Jam, which will be held at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach. Doors will open at 3pm and the show runs 4-7pm.
The UNICEF Tap Project and MyWaterFuture.com present Thirsty for Change: a benefit jam featuring notable artists Timmy Curran, Alex Woodward, Astra Kelly, as well as special guest Holding Air Hostage, fronted by Jeremy Geltman and Anthony Cafiso - to raise awareness for clean water in San Diego and all around the world.
Tickets for the concert are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the show. One dollar of each ticket will be donated to aid the UNICEF Tap Project in providing clean, safe water and sanitation programs to over 90 countries. For every dollar raised, a child will have clean drinking water for 40 days.
VIP Seating is also available for $30, which allows guests to enjoy the show from reserved seats in a loft, meet the bands, and receive a gift bag of eco-friendly items including a complimentary Hunter water-conserving sprinkler head.
Visit the Belly Up Tavern for tickets, and check out tapproject.org to learn more about the UNICEF Tap Project cause.
