There is a childhood nostalgia associated with bowling; perhaps it's the excitement of using 'special' shoes or that endless prayer for a strike in front of your peers. Whatever the reason, bowling has always been a favorite go-to activity amongst friends. However, our youthful days have long since passed and in order to make a trip to the bowling alley a true night to remember, turn the kid games into adult games with a little help of liquid courage and some of these creative drinking-meets-bowling game ideas.
Proposition Frames
Make a rule with the players that everyone in the group has to drink after the frame (except for the person who bowled the best frame). This way, everyone wins but the actual winner. However, if there is a tie for the best frame, it will carry over to the next frame to determine who has to take a drink.
Bingo Bowling
Kick the night up a notch by playing Bingo Bowling, which is a team effort requiring more than two players. Take a bingo card with bowling scores written on it such as strike, spare, split, head pin only, gutter, 16, 11, 14, 18, 10, 19, 8, 6, 5, 3, 2, etc. Each person bowls their frame normally, but instead of trying to get the highest score, you try to get things that your team hasn't marked off on their bingo card yet. Whatever number you mark off, you have to take a drink. Play "blackout bingo" if you really want to get hammered.
Split, Chug a Beer
Significantly raise your group member's alcohol content by simply making a rule where each time someone bowls a split, they have to chug an entire beer. Even though splits are not that common, splits probably average about one frame per game. Nonetheless, you can get your friend pretty intoxicated quickly if they have the misfortune to have two or three splits in a single game.
Funky Bowl
After having a few drinks, give Funky Bowl a try, which requires the player to bowl a different way in each frame, such as the first frame is with the right hand, the second backwards, one foot, sitting down and so on. Or even get a little flirty and bowl between a players legs.
