Pop singer Savi is rising on the music scene, and is featured in hit songs with major stars, including “You Make Me Feel…” with Cobra Starship, “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” with Britney Spears and “Tough Kids” with New Boyz. TNT: Ten Thousand Waves at Museum of Contemporary Art – Thursday, March 22
Thursday Night Thing (TNT) is the Museum of Contemporary Art’s signature social event that attracts a younger demographic with live music, cocktail stations, art activities, and surprise performances themed around the museum’s new exhibits. The first TNT of the spring season celebrates three new exhibitions, including the West Coast premiere of Isaac Julien’s nine-screen video installation Ten Thousand Waves, the U.S. museum debut of Ai Weiwei: Zodiac Heads/Circle of Animals: Gold, and the opening of Iconic featuring works from MCASD’s permanent collection. Tom Arnold Live at The American Comedy Co. – March 22-24
Tom Arnold is a big name in the world of comedy, most well known for his public marriage to (and divorce from) Roseanne Barr, and for his role in the “Roseanne” TV sitcom as both a writer and actor. More recently, Arnold co-hosted Fox Sports Net’s talk show “The Best Damn Sports Show Period.” Arnold brings his stand-up comedy to The American Comedy Co. in downtown San Diego all weekend, with multiple live shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. DJ Jazzy Jeff at Club 207 – Thursday, March 22
Following a big weekend of celebrity appearances in San Diego, DJ Jazzy Jeff is heading to the Hard Rock Hotel’s Club 207 to heat up the nightlife scene on Thursday. Jazzy Jeff first made a name for himself as one half of the hip hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, and later as the character Jazz on the popular TV sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” along with mega-star Will Smith. San Diego Brewery Awards Party at Fixtures Living – Thursday, March 22
San Diego’s best craft breweries competed for coveted titles during Tap Hunter’s 2nd annual San Diego Brewery Awards online public voting process this February. The winners have been announced, and now it’s time to party. Spring Busker Festival at Seaport Village – March 24 & 25
One of our favorite spring kick-off events is the Busker Festival at Seaport Village, which is back for a full weekend of free entertainment on Saturday and Sunday. From noon ‘til 5pm, check out San Diego’s talented “Buskers” -- also known as street performers -- as they show off their skills, with acts ranging from sword swallowing and pogo stick tricks, to unicycle juggling and statue-esque posing. At 6pm, Buskers After Dark takes over with fire jugglers, comedians, acrobats, DJ beats and beer specials ‘til 10pm. Get details here
“Wild West” Walkabout in South Park – Saturday, March 24
South Park is channeling a “Wild West” theme for the spring Walkabout this Saturday evening. As the sun sets, shops and restaurants will open doors as live music fills the streets. Participating South Park businesses with entertainment and specials include Hamilton’s, Alchemy, Ginseng Yoga, Culinary Creative, Junc Life & Style Boutique, Dig Garden & Home, Vagabond Kitchen and more. Club Crawl San Diego in the Gaslamp Quarter– Saturday, March 24
Pub crawls are a thing of the past! This Saturday, join 30 to 50 other locals and tourists as they party it up at four of San Diego’s hottest night clubs.
