New Club M at The Grand Del Mar Resort

Our San Diego nightlife scene is no stranger to hotel club hopping. While it’s now just a standard Thursday night to hit Siren Lounge at Se Hotel and Ivy Rooftop at Andaz Hotel before settling in for dim dancing and nightcaps within Club 207 at Hard Rock Hotel, we party-goers don’t typically think inland Del Mar for the next hot spot adventure on our to do list.

The Grand Del Mar Resort & Spa is taking charge to completely transform this nightlife trend by launching the all new on-site Club M on Thursday, September 23, 2010.

When we think of the revered Grand Del Mar estate in North County San Diego, we think world class golf, luxury accommodations, a serene spa escape and award-winning fine dining. But now it’s time to add sophisticated nightlife into the resort mix.

Haute New Hotel Bar
: The Grand Del Mar has expanded its former Clubhouse Grill into the swanky new Club M – part restaurant, part nightclub, part sports lounge – that boasts an appropriately elegant interior design by celebrated San Diego architect Graham Downes. The “M” stands for memories, and Club M seeks to invite both locals and travelers alike to make new memories while enjoying live entertainment and indulging in a fresh new menu of global tapas, sophisticated cocktails, wine and beer.

The reinvented 1,130-square-foot space offers an upbeat setting with seating for 110, featuring deep earth-toned hues, a carved limestone fireplace, a dark oak dance floor and a full stage. First up, let’s talk food. Chef Ernie Lopez has created a new global tapas menu featuring savory dishes such as: Club M Bacon Fries; Duck Confit Flatbread; Roasted Mussels with chorizo, herbs and tomato broth; Crispy Chicken with Oaxacan Mole; Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Madeira Cream Sauce; Beef Slider Trio; and cheese and charcuterie plates in a variety of group sizes.

Club M knows its classic spirits, and now boasts a refreshing menu of signature Club M Martinis. A few must-try martinis include Yellow Cake with Absolut Vanilla, Amaretto, pineapple juice; Gin and Jello with Hendrick’s, dry vermouth, cucumber jello; I Can’t Decide with Knob Creek, raspberry vodka, sweet vermouth, bitters, squeeze of orange; Raspberry-Champagne Mojito with Montecristo, Champagne, raspberries, mint leaves, simple syrup; Chipotle-Ginger Margarita with Sauza Gold, ginger liqueur, pineapple juice, agave nectar, lime juice, guava-chipotle foam; and Indonesian Delight with mint-and-lemongrass-infused rum, ginger ale.

As you drink and dine in high style, Club M will treat you to an incredible line-up of live entertainment on the main stage. Every Thursday through Saturday, live performers will grace the stage, ranging from jazz standards and lounge tunes to indie, classic rock, and dance music, courtesy of Tony Suraci Band and rotating guest DJs. Club M will also offer a variety of special events with additional ticket prices, such as the upcoming series with Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Steve Tyrell which will run September 30 – October 2 and October 21 – 23, 2010.
