La Costa Resort and Spa for Sophisticated Hospitality

Published : 8/26/2008 by Lauren Brunelle

Summer is a time for weddings, and after spending one of the four I've attended this season relishing in the lap of luxury at La Costa Resort and Spa, this summer will be one to go down in the books.

The flowers on the picturesque property were in full bloom, the catering service was impeccable and the views were breathtaking, all in all, making for an unforgettable day. However, upon my return weeks later to this North County gem, I came to the realization that five star treatment was something offered up year around, whether you have RSVP'd for the chicken dish or not.

La Costa Resort is best known for its lavish suites, world renowned golf course, luxurious full-service spa and salon, and fine dining establishments. Just a few miles from the North County coast line, tucked away from the crowds in private inland grounds, La Costa Resort serves as the perfect getaway for some high quality R&R.

The Spanish inspired design of the resort is mixed with a simplistic SoCal cool, making for the perfect ambiance. Nature plays a key role in the overall appeal of the property with its many larger than life palm trees, various pools and lush golf course.

A key feature that makes La Costa stand out from other amenity rich resorts is its accessibility. Located just minutes from Carlsbad Village and the mellow beaches of Leucadia, guests definitely don't lack in the entertainment department. The resort is also home to high end retail stores like Pinkalicious by Lily Pulitzer and Audrey's Closet, ensuring guests never miss out on a San Diego shopping opportunity.

At the end of a long day golfing, hitting the tennis courts, relaxing by one of the seven resort swimming pools, or getting massaged at the Spa at La Costa, there is no better way to unwind than with a gourmet meal. The Blue Fire Grill, which recently opened in June, offers patrons everything from steak to seafood and a little something in between. Their extensive wine list paired with one of the executive chef's signature dishes is sure to leave you feeling like an A-lister.

Whether you and your friends have partaken in the La Costa Golf and Spa Package, you're picking the resort as the spot for your perfect wedding day, or you're treating your family to the ultimate fun-filled resort stay, every visit to La Costa is sure to be a memorable and fulfilling one. review of La Costa Spa & Resort

Did not have a good experience, found customer service seriously lacking. I was there for an extended stay as my daughter was hospitalized. Original reservation was for two nights and ended up being there for almost a month. My daughter could not get as much as a complimentary bottle of water each day to take her pills. Staff not attentive, definitely not a family friendly resort. Head office, hotel manager, and general manager have a could care less attitude.

Looks good but can it compare?

I driven past this place several times and am very tempted to book a weekend there. However, if you're into the whole luxury spa thing you should look into some luxury Cabo hotels and get the full blown experience!
