Now, Pacifica Companies has completed its acquisition of the hotel in September, ensuring a continued local ownership of the icon known by many as “The Pink Lady.” Pacifica has additionally announced plans for a $10 million renovation of the property.
Included in the hotel’s facelift will be a renewal of the guest rooms, food and beverage outlets, meeting space and spa to be completed later this year. As of now, La Valencia features 112 luxurious guest rooms, suites and villas offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Located in the heart of downtown La Jolla, the hotel is within walking distance of the iconic art galleries, boutiques and restaurants and cafes that both locals and visitors cling to.
Stay and See: Experiencing the warm comfort of La Valencia during the renovation period is accessible with the Return to Paradise Package. Featuring panoramic views of La Jolla, the Pacific Ocean and lush tropical landscaping, guests will be able to enjoy European-themed rooms and suites overlooking the Village. La Valencia’s dining options create a clamor to the kitchen, constantly expanding to include fresh tastes and styles of dining in The Mediterranean Room (pictured). The new menu places a spotlight on tapas and shared plates, a valued aspect of Mediterranean dining traditions. The adjoining patio of the room additionally harbors in the warmth, romance, and vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean. Guests will find an abundance of fresh produce and traditional cooking techniques from Italy, Spain, Morocco and Greece filling their plates.
Included on the menu is a wide selection of tapas, such as Seasonal Peppers with Sea Salt and Manchego; Bacon Wrapped Dates with Spicy Tomato Sauce, Bruschetta with Tomato, Olive Oil and Parmesan; and Shrimp a la Plancha made with Roasted Chilies. Lighter Mediterranean tastes can be acquired through Greek Salads, Fig & Buratta, and Pickled Beets. Small Plates on the menu include Mediterranean Spreads, Grilled Flat Bread, Pan Roasted Scallops, and Tuna Tartar. Large Plates consist of Mussels, Pappardelle Pasta, Couscous, and the favorite dish Paella.
