Rancho Bernardo Inn Golf Resort and Spa is making big moves to support our local San Diego artists.
Café Granada at the Rancho Bernardo Inn announces the addition of a new intriguing design dimension October 2009. Working with local artists based in San Diego, Café Granada now features a rotating art gallery that will showcase different art pieces every 45 days. The Inn’s casual eatery, located just off the lobby, has transformed its walls and display cases into a contemporary gallery to house artwork for viewing pleasure or purchase. This new project aims to bring together local artists and buyers in a social setting.
The café’s new art gallery isn’t the first aesthetic element to enter the Rancho Bernardo Inn. This 265-acre resort is also home to 21 majestic fountains which make the Inn stand out to other traditional resorts in San Diego. Although we love the beautiful fountains just as they are, something magical is about to happen throughout the falls season.
In the artsy spirit of autumn, the Inn invites five plein air artists to a “fountain paint out” competition. These artists, all San Diego residents, will paint Rancho Bernardo Inn’s fountains in Impressionistic style. Guests can observe the “San Diego Impressionists” as they create their paintings, while they are on site October 3, October 16, November 14, December 18, and December 5, 2009. Café Granada will then host an exhibition in February and March 2010.
Insider Tip: Currently on display at Café Granada, through November 4, 2009, are the works of jewelry designer Lisa Confetti (pictured - left, lisaconfetti.com) and graphic designer and photographer Chad Carlson (pictured - main, chadjcarlson.com).
