The Pearl Hotel's Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza

That’s why San Diego’s adored Pearl Hotel is hosting their 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza, welcoming you to fashion up some ghoulish grins. On October 21st, the chic vintage hotel in Point Loma invites anyone with a craving for carving to attempt their best pumpkin creation, from 8:30pm to 11:00pm. No need to venture to the pumpkin patch before you arrive—the Pearl will be providing the pumpkins and all the carving tools. Bring just your inner talent and creativity to the table. 

Unlike your pumpkin whittling days as a child, this spooky and spunky October night comes with booze! Festive Halloween themed booze! Whether that helps or hinders your design skills is a personal decision, but The Pearl will do their best to satiate all your fall liquor cravings with a special Happy Hour. $4 Oktoberfest by Ballast Point and a $5 The Pearl Apple Delight, a cinnamon infused bourbon with apple cider, will be available for consumption all night. To honor Breast Cancer awareness month, the Pearl has created a special cocktail – The Peal Blossom will be offered with $1 off the cost going to “Keep a Breast,” a local Breast Cancer awareness and education foundation. And if you frequent The Restaurant at The Pearl, you’ll be able to recognize some of the regular nibbles and dinner menu available in the night.

It’s not just about a good effort and a big grin on your pumpkin here. You’ll want to bring the best of your creative gusto with you, as there will be a competition for the best carve. Winner of the challenge will receive a one-night stay at The Pearl Hotel, and the runner up goes home with two tickets to The Pearl’s upcoming “Beer for Breakfast.” Third place can still celebrate with a dinner for two at the Pearl’s Bistro Dinner Monday nights. To keep the festivities in full effect, the infamous poolside Dive-In screen will be showing “Charlie Brown’s Pumpkin Patch” and “Rocky Horror Picture Show” throughout the evening, not to mention some spooky jams to groove to.
