Fashion: Your Cruise Style Essentials

Posted On : 3/25/2011 by Augusta Fruzyna

It’s time to set sail on a fabulous vacay out to sea, and of course we want to look fabulous as always. But what’s a cruise without the essentials that make you the ultimate fashionista of the ship? Equipping yourself with the travel staples is as easy as the umbrella in your Mai Tai, and will leave you worry and carefree for a perfect getaway. No one says you have to pack light while leaving your impeccable style on land, so here are some simple ways to make your suitcases weightless, and your style profound.

If you’re heading south of the boarder for to a tropical hide-a-way, make sure you pack a simple pareo. This piece may seem like a no-brainer for the pool, but can double as sexy garb when you mix it with a slinky cami or low-cut tee for happy hour. Make sure you pick colors that compliment your surroundings like a vibrant teal, lime green or a luscious peachy pink. These will not only give you a bright sexy look to get from cabin to pool, but it will also keep you looking fresh from pool to party. Pairing with a light jacket and cute sandals can also double as an outfit for your on-land adventures.

While basking in the sun, you also need to equip yourself with skin-saving essentials. Not only will these essentials make you look great, but will keep you from being damaged by the rays. When preparing for your tropical cruise, don’t forget your sunglasses and your hats. These classics will keep you looking bright and sophisticated while protecting you from the sun. Use your large brimmed hats for poolside. They go great with a classic bikini, and of course, your drink. They also look great with a summer dress for playing around the deck. If you’re in the mood for a little more action, try a straw fedora, paper-boy hat or military-styled cap. These go great with your suits too, as well as shopping and playing off deck with your cut-off shorts, gladiator sandals and tank tops. Keep those stylish shades with you everywhere you go.

Bringing a couple different pairs may better your outfit by pairing over-sized with your flirty outfits, and your aviators or wayfarers for your casual outfits.

Not heading for the palm trees on this trip? That’s ok! These pieces will still work while floating your way through the Greek Isles or Egyptian sunset. But seeing as we’re talking about the warm, sexy breezes, here are some extra essentials that would be great for the tropics, but perfect for your float across the pond.

When you’re cruising through the isles or the Nile, don’t forget to pack your rompers, sexy linen pants, eyelet camis, and cut-off shorts. These are all essentials that you can mix and match with each other to create a comfy, yet stylish look. You can pair your romper with some sandals, fedora and wayfarers for a classic wet-set look. Keep the colors cool and crisp with pops of color like whites, blues, olives and maybe some red here and there. This is sure-fire way to look chic in the cities that coin the stylish fashion.
