Gaslamp Gold: The 2012 Lamplighter Awards

The Gaslamp Quarter Association presents the 18th Annual Lamplighter Awards, honoring downtown San Diego businesses, events and individuals, on Tuesday, November 13 at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter.

If you live, breathe and play in the Gaslamp, you know that it’s a constant hub of growth and change. Each month, new restaurants, clubs, shops and hotels make their debut and continue to prove that San Diego is a lifestyle destination to be reckoned with. This central historic community is one of the largest draws for tourism and local entertainment in all of San Diego County. It only makes sense that in-the-know locals would get together once a year to raise a glass to the very best and give back to the neighborhood we love so much.

This year, the Lamplighter Awards celebrate in the Westin Gaslamp Quarter, fresh off their $25 million renovation. The evening will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 5pm, followed by an elegant multi-course dinner and awards ceremony at 6:30pm. The official after party will take place at FLUXX where guests can expect to party through the night with a special guest performance.

Appetizers to munch on during the schmoozing hour will be provided by barleymash, Café Sevilla, Hard Rock Café, Whiskey Girl, Osetra and more. In the live auction, bid on hotel stays, dining, entertainment packages, cooking classes, wine tastings and other luxuries.

Although the Lamplighter Awards is jam-packed with entertainment, the focal point of the night is the Awards Ceremony. Lamplighter Award categories range from Best New Restaurant to Best New Nightclub, Favorite Casual Dining, Spa or Salon, Venue for Live Music, Gaslamp Hotel and many more.
