Discover San Diego Easter in Coronado

Published : 3/5/2008 by DiscoverSD

If you've been meaning to pop over the bridge to Coronado but just haven't found the time, Coronado's Easter celebrations may be just the push you've been waiting for. With fun on the island all weekend long, there's no excuse not to visit to Coronado this Easter in San Diego.

Between egg hunts with the Easter Bunny on March 22 and the Easter crafts session on March 23, the Hotel Del Coronado is (as always) an excellent destination for your springtime holiday weekend. The hunts, however, will only be available to hotel guests, club members and brunch attendees, so be sure to include Easter brunch onto your weekend itinerary. The Easter crafts event will be open to the public and will provide tools for children to dye eggs, paint wooden eggs and participate in all sorts of other fun activities. Guests will pay $7 per child and non-guests will be charged $14 per child for the craft session.

For more information on the Hotel del Easter activities, please visit the Hotel del Coronado here.

If you prefer Loews Coronado Bay Resort to the historic Del, you can still expect plenty of fun Easter activities over the holiday weekend. Between a special Easter brunch in the Commodore Ballroom and dinner at Azzura Point, you'll be glad you didn't slave away for your own Easter dinner. Plus, the Easter Bunny will be making rounds all weekend long, in between hiding eggs for the Sunday egg hunt. If you are seeking more family time, be sure to sign up for the family baking class, to learn how to bake tasty Easter treats for your loved ones this Easter in San Diego.

For more information on Easter at Loews, please visit Loews Coronado Bay Resort here.

If you'd prefer to spend the day in the sun, try out one of the City of Coronado Community Center events. On Saturday, the kids can have breakfast with the Easter Bunny at 8am, followed by the community Easter Egg-stravaganza. Breakfast is $10 per adult and $8 per child and will include pancakes, sausage, juice, fruit and coffee. At 1pm, the big celebration begins, with visits from the Easter Bunny, a life-size Candyland game, carnival games, and more. Plus, age-group specific egg hunts will be taking place throughout the day.

For more information on the Coronado Easter Egg-stravaganza, please call 619.522.7342.

Easter in San Diego is a time for family gathering and fun under the sun, and Coronado is the perfect locale for an authentic San Diego holiday. From the Hotel del Coronado to Loews Coronado to the City of Coronado, there are endless options for spending your San Diego Easter in Coronado.
