San Diego is on fire again, and it's breaking our hearts. If you're among the evacuated -- like DiscoverSD.com's entertainment columnist, Craig Slike -- know that you're in our thoughts.
DiscoverSD.com’s dating columnist Loxie just left the wildfire evacuation center at Qualcomm Stadium. She was kind enough to put together a list of some of the supplies desperately needed at the shelter.
Loxie's List:
-SHADE: Any tents or umbrellas would be much appreciated by everyone. It’s only noon and there is a definite fear of heat exhaustion.
-PET SUPPLIES: Pet carriers, pet food, water bowls, etc are needed. There are many displaced animals lying on hot black parking lots. Also, most shelters will not accept animals unless they are in a carrier.
-WATER: jugs and bottles.
-FOOD: There are a few business at Qualcomm giving out pizza, etc.If you have a restaurant and can throw some lunches or dinners together, they're much needed.
If you have anything to offer, please email the DiscoverSD Editor, Kirsten Hubbard, at khubbard (at) DiscoverSD (dot) com and we'll get you in touch with the right people.
