Who Said What: Celebrity Gossip and News in Review

Published : 4/18/2009 by Ryan Eisenacher

From TV sensations and musician mishaps to Tweetin’ and a day in the life of the White House dog, we’ve got the dish on this week’s hottest topics. Let’s find out who said what in this week’s celebrity news and gossip.

Tweet Wars: The Superficial dished on how Ashton Kutcher’s big win over CNN on Twitter yesterday. After having challenged the news network, vowing to donate 10,000 mosquito bed nets to the medical charity Malaria No More if he beat CNN and 1,000 if he lost, the Punk’d star reached 1 million followers in the wee hours of Friday morning. Rock on.

Cheeky Brits: What do you mean you have nothing to say Simon? Susan Boyle, hit sensation of “Britain’s Got Talent,” definitely gave viewers a shock this past week after performing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables. The 47-year-old is an unemployed church volunteer who spends most of her time with her cat and admits to having never been kissed. Check out her performance on YouTube here.

Guilty:
The music world was rocked this week with the conclusion of the trial of mega-producer Phil Spector in Los Angeles. On Monday, Spector was found guilty of second degree murder of the 2003 death of actress Lana Clarkson. The 69-year-old producer may face life in prison when sentencing takes place on May 29th. Ouch.

First Dog: Bo Obama made his debut in front of TV cameras and photographers on Tuesday, taking a romp on the White House lawn. And it should be no shocker that the president’s family dog already has a children’s book deal! Bo is scheduled to have a release date of his first book, “Bo, America’s Commander in Leash,” on April 23rd. Go Bo Go!

Oh LiLo: The newly single and ready to mingle Lindsay Lohan made the time to make fun or herself for her eHarmony profile. Check out the parody on Funny or Die. It’s ok Lindsay. We’ll cross our fingers you can get your career back on track. (pictured)

Drama Mama: Jamie Foxx apologized on Tuesday night’s “Tonight Show” after having made some crude comments about Miley Cryus on his Sirius satellite radio show. Apparently Foxx urged the 16-year-old to “make a sex tape and grow up” after her recent feud with Radiohead. Wonder how innocent she really is...

A Matter of Stalking: A former “American Idol” contestant was arrested outside of Britney Spears’ home this Thursday, claiming that she was making a paparazzi documentary. Deputies arrested the 26-year-old Miranda Tozier-Robbins who was wearing camouflage and carrying camera gear after security guards caught her peeking in the windows. Freakish?

Really?: Spencer Pratt from "The Hills" is grasping for more cheap publicity points. After Ashton broke the 1 million followers pledge on Twitter this week, Pratt is thinking he is up for a challenge too. Pratt told US magazine that if he wins the 30 day Twitter duel with Kutcher, Ashton and Demi will have to wash his car. If he loses, Pratt agreed that he and Heidi will clean their house. How generous.
