You're never too old to trick-or-treat in San Diego. While suburban housewives may look twice at your mismatched pirate costume twenty years past its prime, numerous San Diego clubs and venues will celebrate your erratic holiday spirit.
As soon as one wanna-be autumn leaf falls into the sand, dark dreams of one famed Halloween party fill the minds of San Diegans county-wide. Sure, there are new haunted kids on the block, but any local will surely tell you San Diego's Monster Bash is the ultimate Halloween block party.
2007 Monster Bash in San Diego is corrupting the Gaslamp Quarter Saturday, October 27 from 6pm to midnight. Crazed San Diegans in their best Flight of the Conchords dubs and Britney Spears-memorial get-ups will battle in the $3,000 cash prize costume contest, jam to Halloween hits with tenacious locals paying tribute to Paris Hilton: The Prison Days, and rub shoulders and tails to Reganomics and The Trip live on the Main Stage, as DJ Wonderbread, DJ Brent Bartel, and DJ Cobra spin on the Day of the Dead DJ Stage.
Monster Bash guests are also free to exit the mayhem and trick-or-treat the way the Halloween spirits intended. The top 30 Gaslamp bars and venues, such as The Bitter End, Café Sevilla, Henry's Pub, The Lime, Martini Ranch, Mister Tiki Mai Tai Lounge, Dussini Mediterranean Bistro, and more, feature free cover, drink and food specials, and additional costume contests throughout the night.
