Over the past 20 years, Mark Farina’s chunky-funky underground house and Mushroom Jazz style music has continually turned the heads of tastemakers worldwide.
Mark first developed his musical style in Chicago while listening to house music on the radio and shortly after he befriended Derrick Carter in 1988 at a record store in Chicago, his passion for house music really exploded.
Instantly separating him from the rest, Mark experimented with a deeper style, dropping De La Soul, disco classics and other beats that other DJs typically didn’t play in the main room. It was during this time that Mark developed his signature style: Mushroom Jazz. This style of acid jazz infused with West Coast urban beats gave way to an all-new genre of music and in just three short years, fans established a cult-like following for Mark and his addictive Mushroom Jazz sound.
Since the late '80s, Mark has been traveling the globe performing hundreds of shows a year, sometimes DJing both of his preferred styles in two different rooms at the same party. And now, Mark is bringing his smooth jazz-influenced beats to San Diego at the glamorous nightclub and ultra lounge Stingaree.
On Wednesday, October 13th, Stingaree will take off its fast-paced nightclub cloak and host An Intimate Night with Mark Farina. Change up your weekly Wednesday night routine and enjoy low-key underground house beats and Mark's signature Mushroom Jazz style along with opening sets by Jason "Idol" Videna, Cris Herrera and Dadon. We guarantee that this Wednesday night outing is one you won’t want to miss. RSVP now for free entry before 10pm!
