This summer in San Diego has been a consistent whirlwind of happy hours, fashion shows, celebrity hosted events and pool parties, all followed by Sunday morning brunch and a city-wide jump back into the game to do it all again. 

San Diego offers so many fun things to do that we locals are in search of a day off! Not a day off of partying, of course, but a legit reason to call in sick to work and take a personal day to regroup and revitalize. KIN Lounge at Manchester Grand Hyatt has heard our cry and is now giving you a one-day pass to bail all responsibility and focus on fun: Downtown’s Day Off Pool Party. 

Get your calendar out and make a note to self: Prepare to practice your best fake cough and call in sick because you won’t make it into the office on Friday, August 28.

From 12-6pm you have plans with live entertainment, free lunch, drink specials, spa services and much more at KIN Lounge. As Ferris Bueller’s Day Off plays by the pool, San Diego professionals and industry locals will play hooky and gather together on the third floor terrace lounge at Manchester Grand Hyatt, before heading over to continue the party at Street Scene in East Village.

“Downtown's Day Off was created to reward the downtown community while being in the spirit of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It encourages the Downtown community to take the afternoon off and relish in the fact that ‘Leisure Rules!’" explains Rachael Giannecchini of Manchester Grand Hyatt. “Downtown's Day Off is also the perfect way to start the Street Scene weekend.” 

Insider Tip: The Wagon will play some theme songs from the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off and other classic movies by John Hughes. Their music can be described as similar to Slightly Stoopid but with a Hawaiian twist.
