Can’t
make it to Miami’s South Beach
this winter? Deco’s,
in Downtown
San Diego, is the next best thing. At Deco’s, the go-go dancers are
smokin’, the bars are abundant, and the VIP lounge is the epitome of comfort
and excess, with leather beds and plush pillows for horizontal partying. This
place has got all the glitz and glam of the bars and nightclubs that put South Beach
on the map—but luckily, Deco’s is right down the street.
Cabanas,
palm-patterned wallpaper, pictures of coconut groves, and art-deco crystal chandeliers
and electric lights create a sizzlingly chromatic interior that is less sunny San Diego and more sultry Scarface.
You’d almost expect the Miami
Vice theme song to start playing in the background. Fortunately, Deco’s is only
retro in décor. The bar features a variety of music, from top 40 to House to
Rap and R&B. With so many dance floors, good music is a must.
Deco’s dance floors span several levels—they’re truly dance
floors! Guests have the choice
of dancing under the stars or inside the bar, where neon lights and laser shows
only amplify the bar’s already vibrant interior. Although wild lights and
lavish dance floors are not all that unusual in the San Diego bar scene,
Deco’s lushly themed interior reminds us that San Diego isn’t the only
happening beach town in the U.S. After a night at Deco’s, don’t be surprised to
find yourself rescheduling your spring break in Malibu
for a trip to Miami.
