Last year I went to The Local for the Super Bowl because a friend told me that the year before he watched the game there with Jake Peavy from the San Diego Padres. At the time I couldn't tell if he was telling the truth or just making it up, but it was enough to sell me. Even though I didn't meet Jake last year, I was treated to the greatest Super Bowl party of my life. Patriots fans walked in and started screaming, Giants fans screamed back, and all the Locals took sides and had fun. I recommend bringing your earplugs...
The Blarney Stone
This local tavern in Clairemont is known most for its live Irish music, but if you are a foodie looking for a place to meet new people, watch the game, and display your chili cooking skills, stop by the Stone and show the locals what you got.
