For all of us living up "north" these days, sifting through the single scene can be a difficult one.
Sure, North County is the place to get away from the hoo-ha, but where is one to go for a refreshing dose of old school top forty classics and scantily clad ladies or "available" men for one's viewing pleasure? Encinitas, surprisingly, has stepped up to the plate.
Yogi's Bar and Grill, which was once known as that archaic and large dive bar located in the Cardiff Seaside Market Shopping Center, has transformed into a hip, young, beachside hotspot nestled along Highway 101 next to the legendary Las Olas. With a new location offering ocean views, a spacious new bar and a sleek modern décor, Yogi's, truly, has a little something to brag about.
Like any good neighborhood haunt, Yogi's has a welcoming, friendly team of bartenders working the well day or night. Whether posting up for a between "work" beer, that generally begins in the afternoon and leads into the evening to that after "work" beer, or cruising in (or staying for) a night-time cocktail, Yogi's bartenders will surely make their guests feel warm and keep their glasses full at a decent North County price.
Though the weekend/week night DJs aren't there to knock your socks out with an oh-my-god can you believe that set? They definitely do what they intended: get the girls dancing and get the guys ogling (and perhaps confident enough to socialize with the opposite sex). Plus, for the rest of us with the urge to mingle, yet can't get out of our beach-trap neighborhood, Yogi's is always right down the street, conjuring up a little liquid courage seven days a week.
Insider Tip: Don't expect a dress code, but on Friday and Saturday night, if you feel the need to go beyond "beach casual," you won't be out of place.
