Ah yes, the ever-popular Thursday night; the pseudo-Friday college kids have been celebrating since one student long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away had the foresight to realize it would provide yet another few hours of inebriation and fornication so long as class didn’t start at 8 a.m. on the “real” Friday.

As any Thursday partier will attest, such nights have become bigger and even more popular than “actual” weekends. While nearly all San Diego promotional companies have managed to garner their own slice of the weekday partying pie, few have achieved the success and notoriety of DJhere and their bustling Thursdays at Bar West.

And really, I should know. Along with my partner in crime, Mr. Devin Kiyoshi White, I shoot nightlife photos at said venue every Thursday; and nary does a night pass when the place isn’t packed with lovely ladies and gents looking to make the most of their “weekend.”

Cheap drinks, ample eye candy and titillating tunes all conspire to transform a night otherwise reserved for sleep and studies into an evening you’d be proud to say you don’t remember.

Mikey Beats generally mans the one’s and two’s on Thursday nights, however, other talent to rock Bar West’s beautiful dance floor has included DJ’s Craig Smoove, Scooter, and Who to name a few. From house to hip-hop, DJhere has you covered.

So why not say thanks for all the memories (but even moreso the blacked-out nights) by celebrating DJhere and Bar West’s one-year anniversary on Thursday, August 20?

It’s going to be one hell of a party, and believe me when I say you’ll be pissed if you miss out (and no, that doesn’t count for blacking out). Besides, you can sleep when you’re dead; and studying… well, that can always wait.
