Who doesn’t enjoy a quality flick once in a while? Flicks loves film, and guys love Flicks. Although not Hillcrest’s largest gay club bar by far, it’s inarguably one of the most popular. Now going on twenty-five years, Flicks’ recently remodeled colorful space overflows with great-looking men from the afternoon onward. Numerous screens broadcast movies, television shows, music videos, and other visual clips as soon as the first patron passes through the doors. A largish smoking patio offers prime people-watching for those both in the bar and cruising outside of it.

On top of a good film, Flicks loves a good party. The best fuel for a party, of course, is lots of liquor at super-cheap prices. The bar has all others beat in that arena: on Wednesdays, well drinks are only $1 a pop. Even on Fridays, when Flicks is never in want of good crowds, middle-shelf Finlandia drinks are only $3. Other days, Flicks hosts “Wet Booty” contests (no explanation necessary), where contestants compete for big prizes, dating games, and Karaoke. Every day, there are all kinds of games to play, like darts, pool, and a fun trivia system for nerds-at-heart.
