Foreplay: Ultimate Pre Party at Side Bar

Although petite and intimate in comparison to other Gaslamp mega clubs, Side Bar continues to be one of the most popular nightspots among San Diego locals. 

As you grace the scene you can’t help but feel as if you’ve entered one of Mr. Hefner’s exotic Playboy Mansion parties, minus the acres of land engrossed by real-life animals, of course. Take a quick glance over of the artwork displayed on the black brick walls and be seduced by the dozens of canvases emblazoned with inviting half-naked women as well as the signature portrait of a lone emu donning a chic pearl necklace surreptitiously thrown into the seductive mix. 

Most buzz-worthy is the L.E.D. lit DJ birdcage which is typically adorned with go-go dancers when the party starts to really go off. Outlining the glossy, black linoleum dance floor, VIP guests relax on crimson cushioned couches and pick their poison for bottle service. A mismatched array of velvet burgundy couches is set beneath black sheathed crystal chandeliers and a cluster of thirty maroon birdcages dangles from the lofted ceiling.

Although it’s undeniably sexy as hell, Side Bar is not just a pretty face. This downtown hot spot is where in-the-know locals go to see and be seen. Following the re-model Side Bar launched an incredibly popular Industry Wednesday party series as well as the ever-popular summertime Five Ten Sunday Intermission parties which created a purpose for the space between pool parties and industry night events with champagne-fueled in-club Jacuzzi sessions every Sunday evening.

What's New: And now that it’s officially a new year, the masterminds behind Side Bar are unveiling an all-new addition that will definitely blow your mind. Every Wednesday through Saturday from 7pm-10pm, Side Bar will be the “pre” before your “party.” After all, who doesn’t love engaging in some steamy foreplay? 

The all-new pre-party addition of Foreplay will feature 1/2 all specialty drinks and glasses of wine, $4 draft beer, and $6 calls. Sip and savor seductive specialty cocktails such as The Sweetest Taste of Sin, made with Stoli Strasberi, Cointreau, fresh lemon, strawberries, soda, ginger ale, sprite and a sugar rim; the Hot & Dirty Affair made with Belvedere, olive juice, and chipotle stuffed olives; and the Absolut Side Bar with Absolut Peach, Absolut Vanilla, strawberries and pineapple juice.

Hungry? Side Bar will be offering a full dinner with tasty bites including specialty pizzas such as Chicken Cutlet Parmesan with roasted chicken, ricotta, mozzarella and marinara; the Veggie Lovers with broccoli, spinach, bell pepper, tomato, mushroom, onion, olive and fresh garlic; and the Capistrano with bacon, meatballs, green peppers, mushrooms, garlic and parmesan cheese. Or try a signature Stromboli such as the Veggie Boli with broccoli, spinach, eggplant, mushrooms, fresh garlic and mozzarella; the House Boli with pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onion, salami, and mozzarella; or the Italian Boli with ham, salami, tomato, provolone and mozzarella.
