A celebration of free love and social experimentation, FLUXX-Adelic pays homage to 1960s psychedelic rock and dares to blend Hippie rebellion with Hipster pretension. Imagine vibrant laser lights and trippy projection screens bouncing off new mirror walls and black light posters, yet instead of a Brady Bunch-style basement, you’re within the pristine confines of FLUXX – just rated the #1 new nightclub of the year. Free your mind and elevate your soul without sacrificing your standards for San Diego nightlife.

My favorite part? It’s a close tie between the larger-than-life magic mushroom go-go dancer platform stages, and the ‘60s inspired costumes, complete with amazingly oversized afro wigs for the welcome crew. Didn’t score Coachella tickets? Who needs Coachella, or Woodstock for that matter, when you’ve got FLUXX-Adelic right in your own backyard. I’m crossing my fingers that, at least on opening night, the DJ serenades the dance floor with “Purple Haze” rather than the standard “Black & Yellow” club mix. Maybe? Please?
