Gordon Biersch: A Mission Valley Classic for Drinks & Dining

Posted On : 6/26/2007 by Athena Davis

Gordon Biersch’s bustling San Diego brewery and restaurant is located in the heart of Mission Valley, perfect for shoppers who’ve worked up an appetite ransacking the stores of Mission Valley Mall. In addition to its overabundance of delicious drinks and homemade brews, Gordon Biersch also offers a classic—and extensive—selection of lunch and dinner items that pair perfectly with a fresh beer on a San Diego afternoon. Diners can devour everything from steak to pizza, sandwiches, salads, and even sides like sweet ginger rice.

Gordon Biersch was founded by two beer fans, Dan Gordon and Dean Biersch, who opened their first Restaurant & Brewery in Palo Alto, California in 1988. The goal? “Exceptional beer and delicious food.” And how right they were. There are now Gordon Biersch restaurants strewn across the country, though each one has a personality of its own. Gordon Biersch in Mission Valley features a friendly outdoor deck, a dark wood and brick interior, and even valet parking for customers who don’t feel like navigating through the masses of Target shoppers. The restaurant also provides private dining for birthdays, business, or both.

What do returning customers like best about Gordon Biersch? The garlic fries, of course—now available at PETCO Park.
