Holiday Mixology Class at Side Bar

Let me start by saying that I have no idea how to bartend. You want a martini? Righhht. You will take this shot of Patron, and you will like it!

Following a brief “guest bartending” stunt with the DiscoverSD Crew last week at Side Bar (view horror photos here) I now have mad respect for the kind ladies and gentlemen who pour endless shots and cocktails for us, all while keeping a smile on their faces. 

While you may not have a guest bartending night scheduled with Side Bar, you undoubtedly have a social calendar that is already jam-packed with holiday parties throughout the next few months. In addition to sophisticated attire and sexy dates, holiday parties require an elevated take on festive cocktails. From creamy eggnog classics to fresh peppermint-infused innovations, we all need holiday spirits to give us some much-needed courage underneath the mistletoe. Probably inspired by my scary lack of knowledge, Side Bar now introduces an all new Holiday Mixology Class with Ali Pouladin that will teach this season’s bartending basics. Head into Side Bar Thursdays in December and learn how to set up your bar, which garnishes go with what liquors, secret recipes for Side Bar’s signature cocktails, and the essential tools for cocktail making straight from Side Bar’s mix master Ali Pouladin. Do you want to impress your holiday party guests with your favorite Side Bar cocktails, done right? You’ll learn how to make and present the delicious Taste of Sin, Irish Exit and Abolut Side Bar, with a special holiday twist.

Or, maybe you’re like me, and you’ve accepted the fact that you are a horrible bartender and you should stick to boozing on the right side of the bar. Don’t be ashamed! Head to class with your brave friends and stick around after to enjoy the fruits of their labor with a complimentary cocktail Thursday nights at Side Bar with hot San Diego DJs.

Holiday Mixology Classes will be held at Side Bar on Thursdays: December 2nd, 9th, and 16th from 7 – 8:30pm.
