Ahhh, pool party season has finally arrived.

The Hard Rock Hotel San Diego announces the return of Intervention at the all new rooftop lounge: Float. As can be expected from last summer’s unforgettable debut, the 2009 Intervention season promises an exciting, entertaining and decadent atmosphere where visitors and locals alike can spend the last hours of the weekend partying on the hottest rooftop in the city.

Located on the 4th floor of the hotel overlooking San Diego’s thriving Gaslamp Quarter, Float and the adjacent Woodstock Terrace transform into multi-faceted playground for San Diego’s hippest movers and shakers every Sunday from 11am to 7pm. Intervention provides the ultimate in downtown, adult recreation; featuring a rooftop outdoor pool, gorgeous exposed bar, leafy palms, comfy day beds and tricked out VIP cabanas available for the serious party-goer. With no shortage of eye-candy and endless voyeuristic people-watching, Intervention is the official Sunday spot to see and be scene.

Intervention Launch Party: The ’09 season kicked off on Sunday, April 19 with an inaugural bash including beats by DJ Vice and a celebrity-infused crowd featuring Chargers players and San Diego's hottest party-goers. See launch party pics.

The party extends from Float onto the 8000 square-foot Woodstock Terrace, where more than half of the concrete deck is laid with faux grass. The “Grassy Knoll”, surrounded by a multitude of chaise lounge chairs, offers deluxe hammocks, and room on the grass to catch some sun while socializing with cocktail in hand. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Maryjane’s Coffee Shop, takes it to the roof with an impressive outdoor grill to serve up a unique take on American barbecue, in addition to Float’s host of VIP platter offerings. Selections include Kobe Sliders with Horseradish Cheddar, Pickled Onion and Local Tomatoes; Crispy Pita Chips and Hummus, Bangkok Chicken Satay with Green Papaya Salad and Thai Barbecue Sauce; Fish Tacos and Made-to-Order Guacamole. Adjacent to Maryjanes’ Backyard Pool Grill, diners can grab a seat at one of the retro picnic tables. 

Intervention Sundays at Float Lounge take place weekly, each Sunday, through the end of September. Hours of operation are from 11am to 7pm. This is a 21 and over event.
