This summer, go beyond the pale with comedian Jim Gaffigan. Best known for his work on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (Pale Force), My Boys on TBS and numerous Sierra Mist commercials, Jim Gaffigan bring his quirky, self-deprecating off brand of humor to Humphrey's by the Bay on August 16th.
Made popular locally by morning talk radio show Dave Shelley and Chainsaw on 101.5 KGB, Gaffigan appeals to a broad audience by keeping the bathroom humor to a minimum. Often using his obvious physical attributes (skin tone and weight) as a basis for his jokes, he strings them out by imitating the thoughts of audience members. At times, this can be even funnier than the original joke.
The man also likes cake. Check that--loves cake. Don't be surprised if you hear the crowd cheer when he brings it up. You might also be singing the Hot Pocket jingle for the next couple of days.
Tickets start at $45, with special dinner and room packages available. Humphrey's is a nice place to see a show, outside the on the bay at Shelter Island. If you have a boat you might be able to float right up to the stage--you won't be the only ones.
