Stingaree recently unveiled the results of a complete first floor makeover this month. Wave goodbye to the upscale restaurant décor, massive circular bar, and VIP table-lined dance floor; this three-story hot spot is now keeping things casual-cool down low, channeling a “sexy librarian” vibe at Guest House.
Stingaree’s first floor is re-designed by Davis Krumins to suggest an avant-garde library mystique, complete with plush, oversize couches and intimate banquets, scattered bookshelves, antique touches, and dim lighting. Living room-style design elements include painted word search walls, custom lamp shade light fixtures, wingback chairs, shag area rugs, and regal velvet drapery. And the perfect complement to Krumin’s vision is custom sound and lighting by tech-leader John Lyons. Think: a swanky version of Craft & Commerce where selective social engineering is inspired through VIP allure. While you won’t be required to don your haute librarian Halloween costume, this revamped lounge theme will evoke a distinct energy and encourage interaction amongst house guests.
Guest House is far more than just a pretty face. Self declared as the new home for House music in San Diego, Stingaree’s street level alter ego now hosts weekly events, catering to the local crowd with big name talent and femme fatale charm. The go-to Guest House nights are Mondays and Wednesdays, and the Monday night summer series kicked off with Guest House Prelude on June 6, featuring DJs Scooter & Lavelle. See photos here!
Stingaree seeks to prove that House really has found its home during new LED Wednesdays at Guest House. LED Presents is the talent management and production team behind Voyeur and special events at Wavehouse and 4th & B, and through a new partnership with Stingaree, LED Wednesdays will feature the top names in House music, paired with sultry female DJ stars. The LED Wednesday summer lineup was just released, and the grand opening event will feature Sharam on June 22. Sharam is an Iranian-American international progressive House DJ and producer who is one half of the Grammy award-winning DJ/production duo Deep Dish.
Along with Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia, Sharam re-worked classics into international club hits, including everything from Madonna and Justin Timberlake to The Rolling Stones, and also crafted the musical backdrop for Versace fashion shows in Milan and Paris. Sharam launched his solo career in 2008 with the release of his UK top ten hit PATT (Party All The Time), and has since remained on top of DJ charts, collaborating with P.Diddy, Tommy Lee and more. Don’t miss the grand opening of Guest House LED Wednesdays with Sharam on June 22. Get details here! More LED Wednesday events include Nervo on June 29, Sydney Blu on July 6, and Tatiana Fontes on July 13. Scope all upcoming parties in our San Diego events calendar.
