If you have yet to realize that downtown San Diego is a hodge-podge of cultures and culinary creations, take a stroll down Fifth Avenue. You’ll find Italian eats, sushi pit stops, Mexican tacos, Thai, Indian, Chinese and more. New to the mix is a little Irish spirit from across the pond- McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon, opening on October 6th.
This East Coast chain has already won over plenty of fans in Chicago, New York, DC, and Pittsburgh. Now taking over the old Deco’s location, McFadden’s is giving Fifth Avenue the trifecta of Irish enthusiasm: lots of drinks, upscale food at bar prices, and gorgeous gals working the tables. For the grand opening, one day of celebration just isn’t enough. McFadden’s is going big with a full three-days of festivities.
The Grand Opening kicks off on Thursday, October 6th. You won’t want to miss this first night of McFadden’s history in San Diego, open to the public at 8pm. Aside from a first glance of the new downtown hot-spot, attendees will have a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas. The party runs until 10pm, and is hosted by CityBeat. For the second night, McFadden’s upholds their hot girl status with the Calendar Girl Search on Friday, October 7th. Celebrity Playboy Playmates Hiromi Oshima, Jayde Nicole, and Tiffany Selby will judge the contestants in the hunt for the next featured star of the month and an award of $1,000 in cash. Bottoms up San Diego, this night will also feature a hosted bar from 9-10pm, compliments of Pacific.
Every grand opening needs a grand finale to seal it all off. Saturday, October 8th at McFadden’s is no exception. Vanilla Ice is hosting the Calendar Girl Finals. Yes, you are required to stop, collaborate and listen. Ice is back, and he’s taking the McFadden’s revelry to a whole new level. The party starts at 9pm, but early arrival is encouraged to ensure entry and a photo-opp of Ice. RSVP to any of the grand opening events at mcfaddenssandiego.com.
Although the menu at McFadden’s San Diego is yet to be released, its sister locations along the East Coast keep guests full with lunch, brunch, dinner, and a late-night menu, on top of their wide drink selection. Upscale in taste, the food selections will remain affordable in price with great American Pub food like the Legendary Boneless Buffalo Wings, Wood-Fired Burgers and Golden Battered Fish & Chips.
McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon is located at 731 Fifth Avenue, and can be contacted at 619.795.2500.
