Star Watch: Nadia Ali to Serenade Stingaree

Although our local music scene gives any city a run for the money, it’s always a nice surprise to dance in the presence of an international superstar.

Super-club Stingaree just announced a new celebrity performer. Pakistani-American starlet Nadia Ali is bringing her wide-range of talent to the local party scene on Friday, Jan. 27th.

Nadia Ali’s eclectic background may seem a bit wide-ranging, but her songs are well-known to anyone with electric dance music on the brain. The Pakistani-American singer-songwriter who was born in Libya and raised in Queens is now all over our airwaves, perhaps most known for her track “Fantasy” with Morgan Page. Nadia’s star success came after embarking on a solo career in 2005, although she grew immensely during her time as a member of “iiO” with the 2001 hit “Rapture”. A decade later, Nadia’s singer-songwriter career has continued to draw in a massive international following.

Nadia’s most notable collaborations include tracks with Schiller, Sultan & Ned Shepard, Chris Reece, Tocadisco, Serge Devant and Starkillers, as well as Armin Van Buuren. Currently, Nadia and Armin are together on the “Armin Only Mirage” tour, performing for audiences across the globe. Award alert: In 2010, Nadia was nominated for Best Progressive/Tech House Track for “Love Story” at the International Dance Music Awards at the Winter Music Conference. Also in 2010, Nadia received a Grammy nomination for her song “Fantasy”, under the “Best Re-mixed Recording” category.

The entrancing aspects of Nadia’s signature voice will stir crowds inside of Stingaree, performing hits including “Rapture,” “At The End,” “Kiss You,” and “Fantasy”. The evening of Nadia Ali’s performance will also mark the 3rd anniversary of Encore Entertainment’s Friday nights at Stingaree.
