Head to the Ivy Wine Bar and Ultra Lounge to experience five select wines for only $5, every day from 5 to 8pm at Andaz San Diego Hotel. 

Thanks to the brand new Five-for-Five tasting special, sophisticated happy hour at a swanky boutique hotel has never been so affordable.

Ivy Wine Bar’s five wines of choice will rotate on a monthly basis.

Starting off for the month of May, the Five-for-Five deal includes 1.5 ounce pours of Kistler, Vine Hill Vineyard, Russian River Valley 2006; Gutzler, Rolling Hills Riesling, Germany 2008; Merlot, Bighorn Cellars, Broken Rock Vineyard, Napa Valley 2004; Bianchi Famiglia Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina 2007; and Tres Picos Garnacha, Borsao 2008. 

To enhance the global wine tasting experience, guests can enjoy the wine bar’s pairing menu featuring such gourmet treats as Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza, Charcuterie Plate, Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates, Assorted Olives, Cheese Plate and Duck Rillets. Wine-friendly desserts include Strawberry Shortcake, Gingerbread Cake with Poached Pears and Belgian Chocolate Torte.

Not to worry margarita and martini-loving locals! Andaz Hotel’s signature Happier Hour specials are still available from 5 to 8pm in Ivy Wine Bar, Ivy Rooftop and Quarter Kitchen. $5 Grey Goose, Bacardi, Cazadores, Corzo and Dewar’s cocktails serve as tantalizing alternatives to wine.

Ivy Wine Bar and Ultra Lounge gives guests the opportunity to taste 80 wines ranging from highly sought-after “cult” wines to tried-and-true, in Taste (1.5 oz.), Half (4 oz.) and Full (6 oz.) glasses from Ivy’s 20 new high-tech and interactive WineStations.

The wine list ranges in price from $1.76 for a Taste of the 2007 Williamette Valley Riesling produced by Williamette Valley Vineyards (Oregon) to a Full glass of the 2004 Opus One (Napa Valley) for $28.47. The Ivy’s new WineStations are designed and manufactured by Napa Technology, and each station can hold up to four bottles of wine. The WineStations can be used with a touch of a button and swiping a SmartCard, or a pre-loaded debit card in the amount a customer chooses, which can be purchased from staff members at the Ivy Ultra Lounge and Wine Bar within the Andaz Hotel.
