New La Jolla Flavor at Prospect Bar & Grill

While La Jolla is brimming over with restaurants and bars, it’s pretty well-known that many of the locations can be a bit, well, stuffy. Which is exactly why we are forever grateful for Prospect Bar & Grill. This posh venue brings youth, energy, and fun back to La Jolla, along with fresh and reasonably priced eats, live music, awesome DJs, and a swanky outdoor lounge complete with a stunning ocean view.

Specializing in California Coastal Cuisine, this restaurant has an appeal to all appetites. Savory burgers paired with a beer or margarita are only $10, while Wing Wednesdays and Taco Thursdays (yes, Thursdays) bring even more specials. The bar is as perfect place to view sporting events of all types, including boxing and MMA, while indulging in some tasty appetizers or entrées.

Prospect Flavor: Appetizers range from Baja Shrimp Ceviche to 3 Slider Sampler, Seared Ahi, and the signature Prospect Nachos. Salad and Sandwich choices include a Mediterranean Salad with artichoke hearts and pita points, Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich, Prospect Fish Tacos, Foccaica Tuna Melt, and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap.

Prospect Entertainment: Music is a huge part of the environment at Prospect Bar & Grill, with daily live entertainment that ranges from local bands setting a funky mood to fierce DJs sure to make you dance. The week starts off with Salsa Night on Mondays, including free salsa lessons starting at 9pm, a live band and DJ, and absolutely no cover before 9pm. Tuesday brings live music with Rob Hastings at 5pm, while Wednesdays bring the tunes of Alegra at 5:30pm, followed by Open Mic at 9pm. Tuesdays showcase two bands: Two For Blue and The Dave Mathews Tribute Band, playing from 6pm all the way to close.

Every Friday, the entertainment starts off at 6pm with an acoustical performance by Lisa Campbell.  As the sun goes down, 93.3 radio DJs mixed with $5 You-Call-It shots get the party started. Live music happens all day Saturday, from 1 to 9pm, with the acoustic sounds of Ryan Hiller and Trent Hancock. Saturday night brings the sounds of Video DJs playing the hottest hip hop and house music. Sundays give guests a chance to mellow out with acoustic entertainment from 12pm to 10pm.
