The Roaring 20s at West Coast Tavern

West Coast Tavern offers the perfect blend of rustic history and rich modern ambiance. 

Through the entryway on University Avenue, you are greeted by high ceilings adorned with embellished silver tiles that glimmer just above protruding lit lettering that reads “West Coast” – a memorable relic of the venue’s past. A new bar installed in the front room surrounded by bare brick walls guides you through West Coast into the dining room and main bar area that further connects to the historic Birch Theatre’s lobby.

Dim red hues create a relaxing atmosphere and set the tone for dinner or Happy Hour set in oversized burgundy booths underneath antique chandeliers or outside on the open-air patio with personal fire pit tables – one of the best places for people watching in North Park. As you peruse the menu, soothing images of the California coast, various play bills or warming fire places fill eight plasma screens that line the dark wood walls around you. 

Night of The Roaring ‘20s: This Thursday, January 13th, West Coast Tavern is playing up its rich history by hosting an elegant soiree dedicated to the oh-so-glamorous Roaring ‘20s. Come and relive the shimmer of the ‘20s in a night of glamour and great fun. The evening kicks off with a private reception featuring a live ‘20s jazz band, tray passed hors d’ouevres and great drink specials from 7 – 9pm, and will open doors to the public at 9pm with a high-energy DJ set.
