If you walk past Side Bar on Wednesday, July 13th and above all the bumpin’ bass, you hear roars of uncontained laughter, do not be alarmed. Industry Wednesday just got a kick in the funny bone.
Craig Robinson, best known for his roles on The Office and Hot Tub Time Machine, is hosting Side Bar’s notorious Industry Night, along with some help from guest bartenders, top San Diego beat makers, and the faithful guests who keep coming back for more.
The actor and stand-up comedian is bringing his winning smile and intoxicatingly hilarious persona to be the man in charge of Side Bar’s weekly revelry. So if you’re getting low on the dance floor and a Darryl Philbin-look-alike walks behind you, it might be an appropriate time to do a double-take. This is all just part of Side Bar’s plan in bringing the hottest hosts to the San Diego weekday party.
Craig Robinson has been everywhere our eyes turn lately, from guest roles on our favorite shows, movie spots, and everything else, including semi-professional party host with some pretty substantial experience as the host of the seventh season of Last Comic Standing. Robinson got his start in the comedy world by doing stand-up while taking improv and acting classes at The Second City in Chicago. It wasn’t until 2005 that he started to play the warehouse employee we adore him as Darryl Philbin on The Office, and by the fourth season, was promoted to a starring role.
His days on The Office have propelled him to an in-demand star in comedy films, including roles in classics such as Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, Hot Tub Time Machine, and Miss March. You might have also spotted Robinson on your Tivo of late-night TV shows, including Arrested Development and Reno911! If you haven’t caught on yet, Robinson is kind of a big deal the land of comedy.
This fast-rising star has the very vital job as host of the ever-growing Industry Night party this week. Side Bar has had almost everyone join in on the action, from DJs to dancers to wild performers. Now it’s Robinson’s turn to make us laugh until we cry and lose ourselves in a mix of solid drinks, beats, and industry-approved entertainment.
The out of control night holds nothing back as Fortune 421 invades Side Bar, with guest bartenders Jason Herrick and Jason Royle. Let’s not forget about San Diego favorite DJ Brett Bodley spinning tracks all night. Get details here!
